QLD takes home all 3 code wars prizes

And wins State of Origin…

Wednesday night was a code wars event arranged as the event before the webdu conference. We won the competition, along with the costume comp and the wooden spoon.

UPDATE: Here are the files for those who wanted them. This was written for speed not structure so please don’t follow them as best practice! The flash one was written purposely nasty to win the wooden spoon award.

Nappy with gussets

Mum and I had another sewing day today. Our challenge today was to make a nappy with gussets. After combining the wee weka pocket pattern with a few of our ideas and a few online tutorials… this is the result…

The gussets add an extra line of defence against leaking as there are two lines of elastic. It is hard to see in the photo but there is the normal elastic on the leg along with gusset. A booster can sit in between the gussets to either replace the stuffing in the pocket or be combined with the stuffing in the pocket for more absorbancy.

Unfortunately the next photo is a bit blury and the only one I have of the side. If you focus you can see the outer edge along with the inner gusset.

And a photo of the nappy on my adorable godson.

When I get back from webdu, I will post the steps we went through.
