A pretty big scare

well the healing didn’t go to plan…

Long story short, I woke up coughing blood monday afternoon so we headed back into hospital. I lost a couple of Litres in total but are ok now and came home from hospital today.

I’m still pretty exhausted and anaemic along with being sore from the tonsillectomy but things are looking up now. Think it is time for a nap again :)

Through sickness and in health

Today is our first wedding anniversary and the ‘through sickness and in health’ part of the contract is really kicking in. The surgeon was right about the pain getting worse and I’m really not coping well. To top it off the strong pain killers have caused me to start vomitting. Andrew is also sick so we make a really happy couple.

Tonsils are gone forever!

I have been having a fair bit of trouble with recurring tonsillitis.

Yesterday I had the surgery to get them removed. All went well. I stayed overnight and are home now. Last night wasn’t too bad, the pain at the moment is about as bad as it is with really swollen tonsils. Dr says it will get worse for the next 5 days.

While I’m in for a hard next few days, I’m glad I have them out now.
No more tonsillitis ever!

Sammy’s stash is growing

… unfortunately a lot slower than he is, however once we get a design right the rest should follow quicker.

This afternoon, I went to visit mum to make nappy 5 and 6.

We are still working on the pattern changes especially as sammy has grown a lot. We included the gusset design that we worked with on the last nappy.

Besides adding an extra leak barrier, the gussets nicely hold a soaker pad in. The nappy on the left has the soaker in. I was pretty happy with my new sewing machine. I brought some bamboo and fleece home to make the soaker. It overlocked stitched 3 bamboo layers and a fleece layer without a hitch. I might try more later.

Charlie bear is way too small to show the nappy off but Sammy couldn’t come visit :(

Throughout the week, I made another sleeping bag. I hate zips and would be happy never to make anything with one again! However my bias tape skills are getting better and I’m pretty proud of how even the edges are.
