Flex 2 Competition

Adobe has posted a competition for flex 2 developers:
Build the coolest flex app and win more then just bragging rights
Unfortunately this is only open to US and Canada (excluding Quebec)

Thankfully RocketBoots have released a different competition:
RocketBoots Rest of World Flex Developer Space Race!
“Want to strut your Flex 2 stuff but don’t live in the US or Canada (excluding Quebec – what did they do to deserve that)?”

Yay, well this gives me something to aim for. Life will be work, guild wars, flex 2 and hopefully a visit to see sarah for the next month 🙂

If you have a request for me to build something or fix something that is not urgent then the answer is no :p
Just thought I would get in since I seem to have a hard time saying that in real life.

Flex 2 beta 2 released

Small Flash Piece

I don’t often get to show off stuff I do at work since it is mostly for private training. The other day I got to build the menu on the Carter & Spencer site. While it was only a small job I find the menu oddly entertaining. I also like the code behind the menu since it is dynamically created and has the ability to add and remove both bigger links and the small tabs.

Webdu was fantastic

I arrived back from the webdu conference late last night. I have a lot of things to be doing this weekend including playing with some of the new knowledge that I have learnt so I will post more about the conference along with some photos later.

I had a wonderful time and definately will be going again next year. I learnt a lot and enjoyed meeting and talking with the people who’s blogs I often read or whos examples I admire.

stumble

After installing firefox 1.5 I decided to look at some other extensions then my usual (color picker, web developer, view in IE). I came across stumble. You select what subject areas you like and you press a button and it provides you with a random page. Very nice for taking up many hours but also cool to find things that I normal would not come across.
