Next week I’m giving a talk on flash develop at the Brisbane Flash Platform group meeting.
I’ve been using flash develop 2 for a while now and it rocks! It has cut production time and errors significantly with its autocompletion and project settings. Recently I have been using flash develop 3 (currently in beta 3) and examining its AS3 capabilities. Way back when air was released there was a template and a complex set of instructions for setting up flashdevelop 2 to run with AS3 and air. You had to have two seperate installs of flash develop if you still wished to use AS2 and AS3. With flash develop3 its all nicely integrated.
I have not really explored the plugin and customisation that is built into flash develop. I know its powerful and have installed others plugins. So not really understanding Air that well and not understanding flash develop very well I set out to create a project template for creating air apps.
Thanks to the information in this topic I have created my first template. Its pretty easy to make but I have included the files for anyone who wants to download it.
I’m still investigating how the application.xml file can get data inserted into it like the project name so each application.xml will have to be edited to reflect the project settings.
The template needs to go into C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\FlashDevelop\Templates\ProjectTemplates
I may post an update when I have more of a clue of what I am doing.
